Ten farmers founded the Mutovu Washing Station in 2012 beside the Nyungwe Forest in the Nyamasheke District at 1750m. From the get-go, Mutovu produced with top-notch beans by adding raised drying beds and controlled warehousing. To this day, Mutovu supports its community through extension services, seedling distribution and soil rejuvenation. Though the wet mill later changed hands, these farmers grow specialty high‑mountain Bourbon coffee in rich volcanic soil.
